My Overweight Testimony
Ordinarily people go to the office from eight in the morning, eat their lunch at noon and go home around five in the afternoon. After eating their dinner, watching the late night news, they end their day by having a good night rest. However, not I, while they are sleeping my day is just starting.
My daily schedule
I am on a night shift or what we like to call a graveyard shift so my usual routine is to go to the office around 9 in the evening, eat my lunch around 2 early in the morning and end my day by going home at around 7 am. This started about 5 months ago when I was transferred to a different department. When I get home I try to spare at least an hour or two playing hoops with my son (that is if he is into it), then a snack before sleeping. My body clock learned to adjust with this routine however; I noticed a slight change in my body weight. I started to gain pounds, little by little; I noticed that day by day I am getting bigger and bigger. It got to the point that even my in-laws observed the gain of weight. That was when I decided to check how heavy I really was. To my surprise, I increased weight from 155 lbs. to 198 lbs. in a very short span of time. I had to do something to stop or even minimized this unacceptable turn of events.
Therefore, I started planning to do some jogging or even just walking; I've seen a lot of people regain their former weight through this simple exercise. Nevertheless, due to the work schedule I have, that seems to be a bit difficult. Hence, I planned to go to the gym but then again the will power and self-determination is not enough to bring my tired legs to do some muscle flexing. The days turned into months and still I'm gaining weight. I know that there are other people using organic supplements like garcinia extract to help them lose weight, however, I think I just needed something that will help me jump start the pound reduction. Fortunately, an invitation from one of my co-worker to become a member of the company inter-department basketball league came. I knew at that very moment I found my kick and that is by joining the basketball competition. Deep inside I was excited and yet a bit hesitant in joining, but I said to myself this is what I need, this is what I want and this is the perfect solution to my overweight problem, so I signed up.
After several practices and attaining 3rd place ranking in the semi-finals stage, I am currently enjoying a lighter body. It is not yet my desired weight but as I continue sweating out my fats, I know I am on my way to attaining my goal. This is not the end but the start of a new chapter in my life-a body healthy, fit and not overweight.
